About Heads Up, Ohio!

Heads Up, Ohio! was launched in late 2025 with the goal of creating a consistent source of climate and justice focused news in Ohio. We also strive to be a practical resource for those doing justice-driven climate work by highlighting relevant employment, events, and funding opportunities. Many of the funding opportunities we share are curated by Melanie Moore of Bright Lake Consulting.

Heads Up, Ohio! is a project of The Baseline Institute, LLC an independent consulting firm founded by Kumar Jensen. Heads Up, Ohio! was initially funded by The Baseline Institute, LLC with the goal of becoming 100% reader supported in 2026.

Kumar Jensen

Kumar is a writer and the Principal Founder of The Baseline Institute, LLC, an Ohio based consulting firm that provides justice-driven climate, governance, and economic support to its partners. Kumar has close to a decade of local government climate and sustainability professional leadership experience across the Midwest. In 2025, Kumar launched the weekly Ohio climate and justice news round up, Heads Up, Ohio!

Savannah Brantley

Experienced writer located in south-central Ohio. Savannah is an Assistant Editor of the HeadsUp! Ohio newsletter and Digital Editor. She previously worked as an Assistant Editor and Content Writer for Ohio Wesleyan Magazine.
